The IABC membership is open to all businesses and individuals who have interest in the commercial relations between Indonesia and Australia. Since its inception in 1989, the numbers of members have increased substantially, particularly in the past few years. Currently, IABC Membership is about 350 members nationwide, with 255 members based in Jakarta. In terms of coverage, the IABC is the only bilateral organisation that has branches outside the National office in Jakarta.
The numbers of Indonesian member firms and individuals have also increased quite significantly. The breakdown of membership is approximately 43% Australians, 42% Indonesians, and 15% other nationalities. The IABC membership also has a good mix of large multinational corporations and small and medium enterprises (SME’s). This unique mix of membership ranks has made the IABC a far more interesting business organization and has facilitated the flow of ideas and expanded business opportunities.
